Our Digital SLR Camera course is the ideal photography course for anyone who has recently bought a digital SLR camera and wants to understand the settings and how to use them to take better photographs. You probably shoot your photos in ‘Auto Mode’ at the moment but want to understand apertures, shutter speed settings, white balance and more.You’ll learn about your DSLR settings – what they are, what they do and how to adjust them.This course will answer your questions and give you the confidence to use all your DSLR’s important settings.
This digital SLR photography course is also an excellent grounding in photography, covering both the techniques and the terms. It’s the perfect way to learn more about photography and how to get the best out of your digital SLR camera.
This is not a class-room based course. It’s a ‘hands-on’ course, run on location in the beautiful Lake District.

DSLR Camera Class Topics
You will learn about:
- Apertures and shooting in aperture priority mode
- Shutter speeds and shooting in shutter priority mode
- Depth of field
- White balance
- ISO settings
- Composition
- Exposure and exposure compensation
- JPegs and RAW settings
- Tripod use
We explain these terms and techniques in an easy to understand, jargon-free way. Under our guidance, you’ll be shooting photos using all your digital SLR’s important settings throughout the day. You’ll learn how to take creative control of your camera.
