Getting Started with Landscape Photography is a digital landscape photography course aimed at beginners and improvers, who want to get started in landscape photography. It’s the perfect grounding to get you taking better scenic photographs.
This landscape photography course for beginners is based in the Lake District, where we will photograph the beautiful scenery. Limited walking is required – we stay mostly on the level and no mountain climbing is involved! This is a ‘hands on’ landscape photography course. You’ll be practicing what you’ve learned throughout the day.
You will learn about:
- lens choice
- tripod use
- depth of field
- aperture settings
- composition
- white balance
- ISO settings
- exposure and exposure compensation
- shutter speeds to create different effects
We will also demonstrate:
- How to use ND graduated filters
- How to use a polarising filter

Maximum Group Size: 6
Level: Beginners and improvers (those with some knowledge)
Equipment required: Digital SLR camera and tripod (cable release useful but not essential).
Location: Outdoor locations in Keswick, Lake District, Cumbria
Duration: Full day – 9.30am – 4pm
