Getting Started with Canon Speedlites is a flash photography course for anyone who wants to get started using Canon EX 580 II or EX 430II speedlite flash units. If you own one of these flash units and want to understand your speedlite settings – what they mean and how to use them to produce flattering photographic portraits, then this flash photography course is for you.
We will demonstrate how to use single and multiple Canon Speedlites to produce interesting and flattering portraits. A model will be available throughout the day and you will have an opportunity to practice on and off camera Speedlite flash techniques under our guidance. You will need a digital SLR and Canon Speedlite (either a EX 580II or EX 430II).
This Canon Speedlite flash course will be based in an indoor location in Cockermouth, Cumbria. A model will be available throughout the day.
You will learn:
- On camera flash techniques
- Off camera flash techniques
- Flash modifiers including brollies and softboxes
- Using reflectors
- Using flash in ETTL mode
- Using flash in manual mode
- High Speed sync mode
- How to use a flash meter
- How to direct and pose your model
