You will be given confidence to escape 'Auto Mode' and shoot photos in Aperture and Shutter Priority settings.

You will learn how, why and when you should change your camera settings to get better, more creative photographs.

We will cover:

White Balance settings (WB)
Adjusting Exposure
Depth of Field
Apertures (A/AV and F Numbers)
Shutter speeds (T/TV)
JPegs and RAW
ISO settings
Histograms
Bracketing

You will go away with the skills and knowledge to take creative control of your camera and the ability to take better photographs.

You will need

You will need a digital compact camera, with adjustable settings for aperture/shutter speed/WB/EV, or a digital SLR. Your camera manual. A lightweight tripod is useful but is not always necessary. See our Photo Courses page for more information about what you should bring with you.

The course takes place 'on location' in the outdoors. We walk to various areas to take photographs. Walking is mostly on level surfaces and distances are relatively short. Boots or wellies are recommended.
